Preparación

  1. Preheat the oven

    • Preheat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F).
    Paso 1
  2. Prepare the chicken

    • Slice thick chicken breasts in half horizontally to make thinner cutlets, or pound them to an even thickness so they cook evenly and quickly.
    Paso 2
  3. Build the base

    • Pour the condensed French onion soup evenly into the bottom of a baking dish.
    • Season the chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder, then arrange it in the baking dish.
    • Spread the French onion dip evenly over the chicken.
    Paso 3
  4. Add the topping

    • Crush the croutons into coarse crumbs and sprinkle them over the chicken.
    • Layer the provolone slices on top.
    Paso 4
  5. Bake covered

    • Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 30 minutes.
    Paso 5
  6. Bake uncovered until golden

    • Remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden and the chicken reaches 74 °C (165 °F) internally.
