How to make it

  1. 1

    Make the cake batter

Beat the eggs with the sugar until pale and fluffy.

Add the melted butter, milk and vanilla extract, then whisk again.

Sift the flour and baking powder together and gradually mix into the batter until smooth and lump-free. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the cinnamon filling

In a separate bowl, mix the soft butter with the brown sugar and cinnamon until well combined.

  3. 3

    Assemble and marble the cake

Pour half of the cake batter into a cake tin.

Add spoonfuls of the cinnamon filling and swirl with a skewer to create a marbled effect.

Pour the remaining batter on top, sprinkle over the rest of the cinnamon filling and swirl again.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 40 minutes, until golden brown.

Check with a toothpick or knife inserted in the centre; it should come out clean.

  5. 5

    Make the cream topping

Mix the cream cheese, sugar and milk until smooth.

Spread the cream over the cooled cake.
