step by step

Method

  1. Poke holes in the cake

    • Bake the chocolate cake (homemade or from a box mix) and let it cool.
    • Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
    Step 1
  2. Pour over the condensed milk

    • Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, lining it up with the holes so it seeps in.
    • Make sure to get plenty into the middle of the cake.
    Step 2
  3. Add the evaporated milk

    • Pour the evaporated milk all over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
    Step 3
  4. Add the chocolate milk

    • Pour chocolate milk over the cake, filling the holes as desired (no need to use the whole bottle).
    Step 4
  5. Chill the cake

    • Place the soaked cake in the freezer while you prepare the topping.
    Step 5
  6. Make the whipped frosting

    • Put the white frosting in a bowl and pour in the heavy whipping cream in a 1:1 ratio.
    • Fold the cream into the frosting, then whisk until light and fluffy.
    Step 6
  7. Frost and serve

    • Spread the fluffy frosting over the chilled cake.
    • Slice and serve.
