Préparation

  1. Cook the rice and egg

    • Cook the rice and let it cool slightly so it can be shaped.
    • Beat the egg with a pinch of salt and fry it in a lightly oiled pan into a thin omelette.
    • Slice the omelette into thin strips and set aside.
    Étape 1
  2. Cook the chicken

    • Stir-fry the chicken pieces in the pan until golden and cooked through.
    • Add the soy sauce and sugar and cook until the sauce glazes the chicken.
    Étape 2
  3. Blanch the vegetables

    • Boil the broccoli and carrot slices in salted water until just tender.
    • Drain and cool them completely before packing.
    Étape 3
  4. Shape the Hello Kitty rice

    • Shape the warm rice into a rounded cat head and press it into the bento box.
    • Cut the nori into eyes and whiskers and place them on the rice.
    • Cut a small bow from the cheese slice and add it beside the ear.
    Étape 4
  5. Fill and pack the bento

    • Arrange the glazed chicken, omelette strips, broccoli, carrot and cherry tomatoes around the rice.
    • Fill any gaps so the food does not shift during transport.
