Method

  1. Prepare the onion

    • Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium heat, add the onion and fry until golden brown.
    • Remove the onion from the pan and set aside.
    Step 1
  2. Cook the beef

    • Melt the butter in the same pan over medium heat.
    • Add the beef, salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper and paprika and cook, stirring regularly, until the meat is cooked through.
    Step 2
  3. Add cheese and onion

    • Add the grated cheese to the meat and mix until melted.
    • Stir in the fried onion until well combined.
    • Remove the mixture from the pan and let it cool slightly.
    Step 3
  4. Make the dough

    • Place the flour, salt, honey, butter and water in a large bowl and knead until smooth.
    • Cover the dough and let it rest.
    Step 4
  5. Shape the dough

    • Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
    • Lightly flour the work surface and roll out one ball into a thin, round sheet.
    Step 5
  6. Fill and seal the flatbreads

    • Place a slice of cheese on one half of the dough and spread some beef mixture over it.
    • Add extra cheese if desired, fold the dough over the filling and firmly press the edges to seal.
    • Place on parchment paper and repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
    Step 6
  7. Cook the flatbreads

    • Heat a heavy-bottomed frying pan over medium heat with a small amount of sunflower oil.
    • Cook the flatbreads on both sides until golden brown and cooked through.
